Research Interest

Uri Nevo leads the Laboratory for Celullar Biophysics and Imaging. Research areas include: (1) The study of water displacement in cells and specifically in neurons. (2) The study of water displacement in porous materials. (3) Nano scale biophysical processes in nerve cells (e.g. axonal trasport. micro-streaming , swelling and phase transitions during electrical activity) (4) Development of imgaing with a low magnetic-field, open, desktop NMR. 

The main tools used by the laboratory include MRI and NMR, Optical and fluorecent microscopy, optical cohrence tomography, use of vital (ex-vivo) CNS tissues (mammalian and invertebrates) and of tissue cultures and theoretical (analytical and numerical biophysical modelling.
